It’s another triumphant year for two Taggarts’ employees as they take first and second place for Jaguar Technician of the Year 2015-2016.
The leading car manufacturer, Jaguar Land Rover, awarded Taggarts employee William Queen Jaguar Technician of the year at a glitzy ceremony on 21st May in Stapleford Park Country House, Leicester.
The success of the night didn’t end there as William’s colleague, and former UK Technician of the Year, Michael Cassidy, took second place in the Global Competition.
The results didn’t differ greatly from the year before where both colleagues made it through to top 2 places, except last year Michael Cassidy won first place and William Queen was the runner up.
This year’s prestigious awards ceremony came after a long and stringent process which started in April 2015 when William, along with other level 3 and 4 technicians completed an online assessment. This was then followed by another three online assessments split over each quarter thereafter.
From all successful applications, the top five performing technicians were then invited to attend a practical skills assessment day at the JLR Training Academy where they competed against each other over five practical tests.
The final test results determined the UK Technician of the Year and luckily for William and Michael who achieved the highest results, both soared through to first and second place.
