It wasn’t just Mother’s Day on Sunday 6th March, it was also the day Land Rover marked the production of the 100,000th Discovery Sport, and to celebrate the milestone, the car manufacturer made the day extra special for one lucky mum.
To pull the generous gesture together a team of Land Rover's designers and engineers met the Lipton family, who had unwillingly bought the milestone vehicle, to surprise mum Natalie on her extra special car collection day. The two young family members who helped the team finishing touches that made all the difference were 7 year old Jacob and 5 year old Noah.
The little Lipton lads received a behind-the-scenes tour of the company’s Design and Engineering Centre at Gaydon. Bringing their ideas and inspiration to life with a team of designers, suppliers and experts, the brothers created a Land Rover Discovery exclusively for their mum.
Paul Cleaver said: “It’s fantastic that the Discovery Sport has reached this significant milestone. To know that this car has resonated with customers across the world is a testament to the whole team involved in its creation and delivery.
“The Discovery Sport is a truly versatile family car so it’s fitting that we are celebrating with such a special project from the Land Rover family to the Lipton family. It was fantastic meeting Noah and Jacob, they were enthusiastic, energetic and full of great ideas – definitely budding future car designers!”
