Jaguar Land Rover, UK’s leading manufacturer of luxury vehicles and the largest automotive manufacturer in Britain reported its best ever April retail sales of 41, 341 vehicles, an increase of 11% on April 2015, making it the company’s fourth successive record-breaking month. From January till April 2016, Jaguar Land Rover sold 200,154 vehicles which was an increase of 24% on the same period last year.
There was good news for Jaguar Land Rover across all active markets with growth of 25% in the UK, 11% in China, 10% in Europe, and 2% across the Atlantic in North America, while other overseas markets were up 5% compared to last year.
Andy Goss, Jaguar Land Rover Group Sales Operations Director said: “This is a positive start to our second quarter sales and continues the growth trend seen in the first three months of the year.
“Sales of the Jaguar XE remain solid across many of our key markets and we look forward to its start of sales in America next month. Furthermore, response to the new Jaguar F-PACE in its first full month of sales has been extremely positive. We are also seeing the progressive impact of the all-new Discovery Sport, with approaching 44,000 cars sold in the first four months of this year. "
Jaguar Land Rover’s record breaking April came after Land Rover sold 33,348 cars, up 4% year on year. Some of the best sellers included the Discovery sport, selling 9,422 units and Range Rover Evoque retailing 8,293 vehicles in April, while Jaguar delivered 7,993 vehicles, up 49% on the previous year. Sales of Jaguar saw a substantially increase in Europe and UK, up 190% and 108%. Collectively, Jaguar sold 37,847, up 53% year on year.
