The new Volvo S60 is available to take for a test drive today at your local Taggarts Volvo dealerships in Motherwell and Glasgow.
Range
The Volvo S60 offers something for all motorists, with no fewer than 28 versions for the discerning driver to choose from. The most affordable is the Saloon T3 ES 4dr, while at the top of the range is the Saloon 3.0 T6 SE Lux auto 4dr.

Whatever the model selected, the Volvo S60 is hailed as being both spacious and comfortable and is reasonably priced.
The keenest priced diesel powered S60 is the 1.6 DRIVe ES 4dr that is hailed as being cheaper to run than the T3.

The R-Design package that is included on S60 models such as the 2.0 T5 4dr, 2.4 D5 SE auto 4dr, 3.0 TS auto 4dr, boasts a range of superior interior and exterior features. Among these are R-Design sports steering wheel, a front grille incorporating the R-Design badge, aluminium sports pedals, large allow wheels with low profile tyres and a ‘Watch Dial’ instrument panel.
Engines and performance
The 2012 range of the Volvo S60 has seen the company’s engineers reduce fuel consumption by an average of 10 per cent. A further technological development has seen the introduction of a second-generation of the Geartronic six speed automatic transmission.
The T6 petrol engine has been boosted to 304 hp D5 diesel to 215 hp. In addition, the D3 has seen benefits in performance through its finely tuned turbocharger.
Both the T4 and T5 in the latest Volvo S60 models are available with six-speed manual transmission or six-speed Power shift automatic transmission.
The improved fuel efficiency in the S60 is exemplified by the Volvo S60 D5. Consumption is now 4.7 litres per 100 km with manual transmission and 5.9 litres per 100 km for the automatic transmission version.
The corresponding CO2 emission figures are 154g/km and 129g/km.

Safety
The Volvo S60 has embraced technology that makes driving even safer. ‘City Safety’ is embraced at avoiding collisions, especially in congested urban environments. This system features lasers, which automatically applies the brakes when a collision is imminent.
Other safety features in the S60 include child safety door locks, power door locks and vehicle anti-theft fitted as standard.
