The Motability Car Scheme offers disabled people who receive the Higher Rate Mobility Component of the Disability Living Allowance a brand new car every three years including insurance, personal accident cover, aftersales servicing and maintenance, full breakdown assistance from the RAC, an allowance of 60,000 miles over the three years and free tyre replacement.
If you receive the Higher Rate Mobility Component of the Disability Living Allowance or the War Pensioner's Mobility Supplement, getting a new car is easier and more affordable than ever. Through Motability, you simply turn part or all of your allowance into the car of your choice.
With contract hire through Motability, you get:
- A new car of your choice every three years
- Insurance and personal accident cover
- Servicing and maintenance
- Full breakdown assistance from RAC
- Free replacement tyres fitted by Kwik-Fit
- Window or windscreen replacement at no extra cost
The Motability Scheme has supplied over 2 million cars and powered wheelchairs to disabled customers since it was set up by the Government in 1978. If you are eligible for Motability, Taggarts have Motability specialists on hand to help you. The table below shows some of the cars that we can supply through Motability, and the current offers for these vehicles. Advance Payments are payable in one lump sum to Taggarts at the start of the lease. The Weekly Rental is the amount of your allowance that will be paid to Motability Operations each week in exchange for your car. T/A denotes "Total Allowance" and means that all of your higher rate allowance is payable for the duration of the lease.
