Safety First

The Jaguar XF Sportbrake is an expert at taking care of you and your passengers. With a host of safety technologies available, you can drive with complete peace of mind, no matter where the road takes you.

Stability and Road-Holding

A selection of features is fitted to help you stay in complete control of your XF Sportbrake:

  • Emergency Brake Assist - ensures maximum braking power is delivered in an emergency stop situation.
  • Electronic Brakeforce Distribution - automatically adjusts the level of force applied to each brake, depending on variables such as road conditions, speed and load.
  • Anti-lock brakes - prevents the wheels from locking when brakes are applied to avoid skidding.
  • Traction control - enhances driver control on varying surfaces and prevents loss of traction when braking
  • Cornering brake control - distributes braking force when braking through a corner
  • Engine drag torque control - prevents the wheels from locking on slippery surfaces if you release the accelerator suddenly or shift down a gear quickly.

Dynamic Stability Control

The Dynamic Stability Control detects if the wheels are slipping and maximises stability. If you are using snow chains, or simply want a sportier drive, select 'Trac DSC' to enable some slipping and overspin before the system intercedes.

Two-Stage Airbags

The XF Sportbrake features two-stage airbags that are designed for ultimate protection. They reduce the risk of injury from the airbags themselves by sensing the severity and direction of a collision. This means that they can inflate fully for serious accidents and less so for more moderate impacts. The side airbags only deploy when impact comes from the side and airbags only deploy for those seats that are occupied.

Blind Spot Monitor

The blind sport monitor detects vehicles that can't be observed and displays an amber icon to warn the driver. This is available as an option.

Tyre Pressure Monitoring System

This option delivers an alert message if it detects a reduction in pressure on any of the tyres.

Pedestrian Contact Sensing System

Jaguar's industry leading technology is designed to protect pedestrians as well as the XF Sportbrake's occupants. If the system detects contact with a pedestrian, the bonnet raises slightly to prevent their head hitting hard points under the bonnet.
